I love being able to easily add photos to the Ancestry page Great app
Gets 4 stars from me instead of 5 because I have encountered a prob I have an iPhone 6 with iOS 812 When I try to edit my Shoebox v 305 to add details as soon as I select Description and type of photo it locks up tight I have to enter this info from my PC Otherwise its a truly great app to get any persons photo into Ancestry and your Photo Stream Even if the photo of the person is at an angle you can crop the photo at that angle to unskew the image I do wish however that the shape of the cropping area was selectable and each time could be constrained to your choice of either a rectangle a parallelogram or a trapezoid rather than me having to tediously place each corner of the cropping tool please consider this enhancement Super app anyway Incredible I love it
Cannot log out or access settings since iOS 84 update Every time I try to log out the app repeatedly crashes even after force closing snd restarting AND uninstalling and reinstalling Photos will also not upload since update Cant Log Out
I absolutely LOVE this app It really added value to my family tree I was able to take pictures and add a face to the name If I dont have a picture readily available Im able to take a picture of a document or gravesite relevant to the family member It helps give a little more personalization to the tree A valuable app A must have Shoebox addict
I used this app a lot when it was connected with 1000memories Now I will stop using it I do not want to go through Ancestry to use the app I do not want to upload photos to Ancestry You ruined this app for me Hate losing the 1000memories shoeboxes JJ

This app has saved me so much time while working on my family tree The process of scanning a photo news paper clipping or document and then uploading it from my computer was a huge pain and way to time consuming Now its simple and easy with Shoebox Wonderful App

Loved this app before the merge with Ancestry Spent tons of time loading hundreds of unmarked old family pics into the app family members were helping me identify them After this recent Ancestry upgrade they purged all my photos from the app wont put them back I deleted them from the camera roll already because I needed the space on my phone trusting that they were safe within the app Yes I can still access them from the website but that is not nearly as convenient on my phone I put them in the app with the expectation that they would stay there Who knows when they will decide to make a future update that will purge your work out when you least expect it Let me down
This is a great idea and a very vital and necessary companion app for the family tree online or offline but unfortunately the app appears to have been abandoned It crashes frequently lacks basic options not intuitive etc PLEASE UPDATE THIS APP it would enhance the value of my Ancestry subscription I pay so much for already Superb idea terrible implementation

I loved this app until last week Now it doesnt work I was advised to reinstall and lost all my photos in the shoebox Even after reinstalling I have the same problems Not happy at all Ps When you next update You need to add a microphone so you can add audio recordings The Family Search memories app is way better and thats shocking since Ancestry has always been cutting edge New update is horrible

This app is so much easier to use than scanning then uploading to the Ancestry site on the computer It has sped up my process of uploading many pictures And its is so easy to add the names of everyone in a group photo to each of their own files Dump The Scanner

I havent run into all the problems others have mentioned Ive seen some quirky behavior at times but I have had an overall good experience with the app so far A couple suggestions I would love to see an iPad version come out and it would be nice to have the names show on a list outside to picture instead of covering it It has been hard to tag all the faces when there are a lot of family in the picture since the names of the already tagged cover the faces that have yet to be tagged Over all good experience
This is a great app in theory I wish I could get better usage out of it It keeps freezing when I try to edit the type of item Im uploading ie photodocument etc and I have had to completely uninstall three times as it will not unfreeze So disappointed Great In Theory

Any app that allows you to take a picture crop it tag people and then once you save it refresh the web page and it is loaded Easily six stars Perfect
I love the feature that allows you to add notes date and location for the picture The huge drawbck is that the photo stays on your Ancestry account and there is no way to download them to your computer or anywhere else I use another Ancestry product to maintain my family tree and I want the photos on my local drive What if I were to let my ancestry accounty expire I would loose all the photos No way to print or store in other locations

This is a great idea if youre working on your Ancestry stuff But it wont crop it freezes and posting is hit or miss Its just too painful to use I see others saying the same thing so why havent they created a fix for this yet Why does Apple allow these type of applications in the store I dont understand shouldnt things like this work before getting Apples approval Very painful app to use
