I had some interest in this titlebeing reminding of the oldschool beat em ups dont even bother Horrible controls even worse graphics than back then and gameplay that will make you angry you spent 99 cents on this one Buyer beware     Definately deserves Worst Iphone Game Ever Title

Revenge of the Mad John for the iPhone and iPod Touch takes you to the street where you get to punch and kick the lights out of advancing enemies on the street Tilt your device slightly to turn from left to right and slide your hand up and down the opposite sides of the screen to punch kick knee kick and drop kick thugs in your way The wave of advancing enemies is seemingly endless and soon you will lose track of time punching and kicking your way past the thugs The graphics and game sounds are excellent I wish there were more upgrades and more street scenes to put in some variety though Other than that an addictive engaging actionpacked game Perfect for an anger management session                 Incredible action game

So far its not too bad but it needs a Dpad option and iPhone music playability           Not bad for free

This game is lame The graphics are a blur its virtually impossible to pick up weapons on the rare occasion you find one and God forbid a bad guy comes up from behind you Its hard to turn around I found myself just hitting the kick button over and over again cause it was the only attack that seemed to work Also you cant listen to your own music instead you have to listen to a cheapheavily distorted guitar that plays the same rhythm over and over again Lame     One less song I could have bought

Its a nice little retro beat em up But the controls need to be changed We need a virtual joystick or d pad Then you will have a contender Thanks for the game tho           Please change the controls

This game touts itself as being The Best Old School Beat Em Up in the AppStore And yes it is old school in nature with the same someone kidnapped your girlfriend style story weve all seen before It has a great trailer advertising all that But does it actually stand up Lets have a closer look shall we The game plays for the most part like games such as Renegade Streets of Rage and Final Fight It has one weapon thats very easy to lose and health powerups that are plentiful It uses digitized everything for the graphics except for the cut scenes which Ill get to in a bit The graphics are sort of on par with the arcade version of Pit Fighter Everything is low resolution and pretty pixelated the animation is subpar but in these old school fighters we didnt have loads of animation However the deaths or the enemies are anticlimatic at best Most of the the time they disappear before they even hit the ground There are a LOT of different enemies to fight which is actually a pretty nice change of pace The 8 stages each have their own fairly unique look and other then being somewhat blocky they look alright The cut scenes however look like they were drawn by a drunk 10 year old and really drags down the overall presentation of the game The sound is pretty standard stuff for a beat em up Grunts and groans with rock music going in the background that doesnt have much depth or variety to it Oddly enough the female enemies in the game make the same grunts and groans the men do You get a Bad Dudes style Yeah after you beat a level as well The control somewhat works You use the tilt feature of the device to move your character around the left side of the screen is for kicking and the right is for punching and picking up the one weapon youll occasionally find There are only 5 different kinds of attacks maybe 7 if you count smacking someone a couple of different ways with the I dont even know what the hell the thing is to be honest But the movement itself feels very sloppy and youll have a hard time being able to turn around when you really need to So that being said there are tons of cheap hits in the game due to the sloppy controls and the lack of any real fighting moves Apparently old school gameplay to this developer means unresponsive controls cheap hits which honestly theyre kind of right there Anyone remember the original Double Dragon or Golden Axe and extremely shallow mediocre gameplay You move through the level beating up everything that moves and you fight a boss You know its a boss because they take several more hits than the normal enemies and their health bar is bigger and brighter Shallow mediocre gameplay Sloppy control sub par presentation But for the price its going for as of this writing its not a bad game for 099 But Id just head over and grab the MUCH better OMG Pirates game Now in all fairness there are updates planned for this game that add things like throwing blood more weapons and a survival mode Maybe theyll actually add alternate control methods a combo system of some sort eventually and make the gameplay a little smoother But this 10 release has really missed the mark for me        Almost but not quite
