there is a often vast difference between the way you say a word and the way it is spelled which can be overwhelming when you are 1st starting out this course is similar to Bunte Kinte but not nearly as expensive My grandfathers native language was Gaeilge and I feel it is my personal responsibility to help keep my heritage alive thank you for this opportunity and excellent gift Irish seems at first as complicated as Chinese pdxmuse

I have had this app for a little over a year I bought the full version 10 if I remember correctly then just let this sit on my iPod I would occasionally go onto there but usually to pass time when bored This past month I have been really using its full potential How glad I am that I did I have learned some words already and currently I can even speak a small phrase s I am a competitive swimmer and a way I remember the words is by repeating them in my head while I swim Definitely helps keeping me entertained while I swim I am personally visiting Ireland next year We have planned this for over 2 years I want to be prepared just in case The only suggestions I would make to this app are 1 Tell the user how to make complete sentences EX adjective before noun or noun before adjective 2 How to do the numbers in between the main ones EX 21 22 23 24 25 3 Ways to help make proper sentences EX The beaver chewed on the brown log Besides those factors This is a great app There aren t many good Irish Gaelic learning mobile apps I m glad I found this one It even allows you to listen to music while you study Amazing Extremely Useful JazzyGirls77

I can tell a lot of thought went into designing the features as well as the sequence of word introduction I won t get into the features as you can read about those in the app description I selected a new word introduction rate of 3 per day and am closing in on a vocabulary of 900 words phrases By the way according to linguists if you know the top 1000 words by frequency of usage in any language you should be able to understand about 80 of normal daily conversations The words are introduced in a way that provides a good feel for and level of comfort with the range of sounds used in Irish This is done using simple high frequency of usage words many of which are roots used in more comlex words that are introduced later One example bia food bialann restaurant biachl r menu You will learn lenition and eclipsis variants of words naturally and effortlessly The pronunciation of every word phrase is very clear and distinct and as a native American English speaker I find the app s native Irish speaker s Munster dialect particularly easy to understand and reproduce One minor thing the developers should fix is the app s tendency to take over the audio when your iPhone is connected to a sound system via Bluetooth I usually have to close the app before pairing with my car stereo otherwise I will hear my Irish vocabulary instead of Spotify This in no way detracts from the overall value of this app If I haven t made it clear by now I love this app If you want to learn Irish just use this app 10 20 minutes a day and you will be well on your way Go n ir leat A great language app mrandomk

Love the program My grandparents spoke Irish as their first language and I remember a few phrases that my grandmother taught me Some of those same phrases appear in the program Ive tried other Irish programs but this is by far the best Irish made easy
Its still super hard to find great help like this when learning Irish Gaelic The price for getting the full version of this is extremely reasonable and worth every single penny The audio really helps and I love the feature where you can record yourself and listen to you and then the teacher It really helps with actually speaking the language correctly This app is really amazing and I love it Excellent

This is an enjoyable way to learn the language It freezes sometimes in the flash cards but just need to hit home button and retap flash card icon to return to what u were doing I can spend a lot of time in this app learning at my pace and not get bored like with other language apps Language app really good

I really wanted an app to share with my kids but the accent on this was very very bad its not a single one of the three main dialects in Ireland While words like cheers are passable others like hello are badly misspoken whichever dialect you go by Accent was very bad

I downloaded to refresh my Irish skills and this app is one of the best I have used Very well done
Nemo worked fine but I had to uninstall from my iPhone 6 Id used it threeword lessons then quit the app However it continued to recite words over the streaming audio app I opened next even though Id quit Nemo I couldnt figure it out so I deleted it which solved the problem Anyone else encounter this or have a solution Good but flawed
