Im an advocate of language acquisition through intense vocal memorization Thats why I tried this app The basics are there but when I had my hong kong native wife listen to the pronunciations she said she wouldnt have understood what they where saying if she didnt see the word The tones arent consistent and the accent sounds like a mainlander who speaks cantonese as second language Also the vocab is very formalmost of the words I learned in the first few days my wife says people dont even talk like that I would suggest to the developers to update their vocabulary by using native speakers and not some online dictionary But for ten bucks you cant expect much from language software Ouch
