you could probably teach yourself katakana and hiragana from this game but i found it perfect for repetitive and quick reinforcement of alphabet study the drills are spoken to you for matching and the boss fights are silent for matching on your own as there are over 100 levels for each alphabet it is well worth the price great practice game
