The iHealth Wireless Smart Gluco-Monitoring System lets you measure and record your glucose levels using a portable testing kit and your Bluetooth-enabled mobile device. The first system of its kind and great for traveling, it ...
Why does this app need access to my microphone The App should recognize that it s on a phone with out a headphone jack and stop asking for access to the microphone             Microphone none326
The app still prompts every time it opens to have access to the microphone even though it doesn t need it when you have a smart Bluetooth device I would think a health app would be a little more sensitive to my privacy     Unneeded access to microphone gdbjr
I use blue tooth meter Contour Next One I don t want change meters Your software does not use Apple Health Most venders of Apple software do If the software had full access to Apple Health data it would not restrict the user to a specific devices to use enter data in Apple devices             Like but dislike Griffggd
It could be a great app It annoys me to no end that it keeps asking to send me notifications I really really hate that The notes section should enable spell check and maybe multi line editing Sharing the log as a pdf should include my notes They only show up in a spread sheet Why can t it automatically recognize 2 devices and bottles w o needing to rescan one at work one at home         Meh WIllum1034
I love the BG5 and it s dashboard along with its data recording capabilities I m overjoyed that I can easily share my results with doctors and anyone else that I need to share the data with It s a truly revolutionary product Issue 1 My BG5 Bluetooth connection has been working great until the iPhone X came along I see another review with the same issue listed above I ve emailed support with no response Issue 2 A few releases ago they removed the ability to modify the count remaining in strip vials when they run out due to glitches inserting the strip or pairing with my phone during strip insertion I m up to 45 strips I haven t been able to use in the past three months This change is costing me extra money on top of the fact that I already have to pay for the strips out of pocket due to no insurance coverage Please help me resolve my issues Warmest Regards     Love the Product but kstr79
I am able to make a Bluetooth connection with the phone but not in the app It worked fine on my iPhone 7plus I run into the same problem on with the BP5 blood pressure meter from iHealth Thanks             iPhone X Vivel28
Device will no longer connect to the app even though Bluetooth is connected Turn on device it connects to Bluetooth it then opens the app by itself but the app will not attach to the device     Will not connect to my 8plus Mpike78
Is there any known issue why the app doesn t recognize my meter now It was working perfectly on my iPhone 7S Plus I don t have that phone so I know it isn t connected to it anymore The iPhone X picks it up in the Bluetooth but just isn t recognized by the app now Help                     Happy Until I upgraded to iPhone X bera222
I am sick and tired of having to scan a new bottle every few times because the app doesn t work please fix     Works sometimes Dcf red
I would have given a 5 star but being I cannot get the app to see the device even though the phone sees it and connects to it Not sure why I cannot not get it to work on my 8p but it does work on my 5c just fine Is their a problem with IOS 11                 Not working on my iPhone 8p toneabee23
It worked like a charm for nearly six months and then the app refused and continues to refuse to scan the QR code on a new bottle of strips This renders the strips useless You can only use iHealth strips Now I will say that the app worked like a charm before it all went south I like that the data uploads to the cloud so you never have to write down your numbers but can chart your progression online There are so many things to love about the app with the device even though it is not covered by insurance I switched back to an old school meter and enter my results manually in this app so I can still keekp track but wanted the consistency of just one meter I reached out to the company and they said do a reset Didn t work So it was great while it lasted but             Great But JBelt88
Maybe it s the headphone to lightning port adaptor but it doesn t work with my iPhone 7     Doesn t work with iPhone 7 KsloaneD
The app and device don t seem to work until after you scan a barcode The process is buggy slow and makes the experience painful for no good reason other than making iHealth more money I sure hope you guys go out of business when Apple and Google release their non invasive glucose tests     App made useless by by leadership Аchille
I have an EGS 2003 test strip but i can t use it because there is no QR Code and I can t change to no coding on apps because there is no select test strip type on settings Not good at all     No Select Test Strip on Settings 70u13louie
Bought one and it never worked     WW wanderingwino
Test strips have an expire date of late 2018 and my son inadvertently scanned wrong strip bottle a few months ago which caused them to be completely useless Before I even test any strips or scan a bottle the app constantly says strip is expired This meter will cost you more money than others I have also been waiting days without any response from support about this issue Definitely would not recommend this unit to anyone     Wasted an entire bottle of test strips jw_denver
My meter only connects to my app about 75 of the time Has stopped sync with the health app again Stop updating unless you actually test it     Spotty
When I originally reviewed this app I gave it 45 stars and expressed the hope that they would both allow newer insulins possibly letting you enter the name and allow for larger insulin dosages I currently take 140 units of Toujeo which is a new more concentrated form of Lantus in the morning along with premeal and bedtime doses of Novolog As a workaround to the limits imposed by the app I had been entering two separate 70 unit doses of Lantus instead of one 140 units of Toujeo With the latest version of the app I cant even do that since it apparently wont allow you to log the same medication twice Very disappointing My Original Review on July 06 when I got the app I just got this app and the iHealth glucometer to replace my Bayer Contour Next because the Bayer makes it difficult to record insulin doses and I liked the idea of instant upload of data to the iPhone and integration with the Health app But 1 I found the UI of the app a bit confusing I took my first reading and while trying to correctly I managed to delete the glucose reading when I thought I was only deleting a mistaken insulin dose I did manage how to manually reenter the reading since I still remembered it 2 Entering meds and insulin is unnecessarily complicated a The App gives you a long list of both medications and insulin types and you have to scroll to select one b The list of insulin types is incomplete I take Novolog which is in the list and was recently changed from taking 70 units of Humulin N which is not on the list at night and 70 units of Lantus which is in the morning to taking 140 units of Toujeo in the morning which also is not on the list either c The maximum insulin dosage that can be entered is 99 units So I had to record my Toujeo dosage as two separate doses of Lantus it is a more concentrated form of Lantusl So some suggestions would be to 1 make it a little harder to delete a log entry once its been uploaded it is no longer kept in the meter 2 Allow you to choose which medications you take rather than presenting the long list and allow you to add medications if they are not there     A Step Backwards
I dont have diabetes or anything I just like to check my blood glucose sometimes However Im struggling to add a postmeal reading via the app Otherwise it would be 5 stars It has settings and statistics for postmeal even a button I cant get it to do anything though Maybe its user error              Convenient
Nice update Easy to find the info you need Does not hijack you microphone like other versions Works well with my Wireless Smart Gluco meter No crashing issues Hope to see blood sugar back on healthkit to see how syncing will work Thanks iHealth for the opportunity to beta test                 New Version Much Nicer
Everything is fine when I have my glucometer connected by bluetooth to my iphone6 Those times when I need to do a test without the glucometer tethered I make note of the readings When I do an upload these readings seem to be missing Also wish there were better reporting tools           Offline readings dont sync
App is great for keeping track of blood sugar results but the meter doesnt always connect and sometimes I have to try three to four times and the I get a low battery notice when I insert the test strip Start all over again argh I dont feel that I can depend on the deviceapp to work together           Was so excited about this app and device but
I have been using the iHealths glucometer BG5 along with the iGluco app for almost a year now and have compared it to several other glucose meters Not only is this meter very consistent and accurate in comparison to others but the app continues to improve with great customer service Very affordable too                 Excellent App Device
I applaud you for being the first company to create a glucometer that connects wirelessly to an iPhone but your latest update states Apple Health compatibility I dont see anywhere in the app to turn this on and this app doesnt show up in Apple Health        No Apple Heath compatibility
Since April I cannot use this APP on my iPad at all because it does nothing but CRASH Ready to throw the whole set away and buy another brand because this is just UNRELIABLE Why do you fix what wasnt broke Even when I start it in the Portrait mode it shows that message that I have to view it in Portrait mode then CRASHES     WOuld be better if adapted for both iPhone and iPad platforms
I love it It is much better than the old app it gives me more info and it is much better I have an I phone 5s and it works great especially with the BG5 Thanks Carina                 I Gluco beta
Im a type 1 have been using this with the BG5 unit Seems to work well for me The only thing I find annoying is photoing the strips bottles              Works
This could be very useful but the app wasnt well tested with ios8 So the meter cant yet be used Save your money till it has been tested by end users        Not yet ready for release
The customer service telephone number is always under maintenance the App does not sync to iOS 8 health app whatsoever The physical reader rarely works and when it does it just says change battery with new battery     IGluco
Ive been using IHealth products for a while and have found this app really helpful in keeping my sugar levels in check Eyeopening in come cases Nevertheless this latest update fills the app with what can only be described as ads for the American Diabetes Association This is simply unacceptable and if it doesnt change soon Im going back to regular glucometers It really is that ugly           Love the app hate this update
The app no longer detects the meter Tried with two brand new batteries     Update is broken
I like the app in general I had some problems with the device not being recognized but once I purchased and replaced the battery it was okay The problem I am having now is the inability to select Had Meal A reading of 130 after a meal is not the same as 130 before a meal I am thinking about going back to my old meter           Good but
The app seems to be pretty stable with the exception of crashing after a blood scan and trying to switch to another app this one will crash Other than than the PFD reports are nice but it would be nicer if they had an option to have a detailed report of each reading so attached photos and written comments are part of the report There is not much sense into have those ones if one can not shared them with the doctor              Cool looking Can be better
They should fire whoever made this app The only thing ihealth has going here is the cool hardware design for the meter everything else about this system is awful including this poorly designed app Sorry guys you did it to yourselves     Awful design not intuitive
I open the app plug in the device it keeps telling me to plug it in I have a brand new battery so thats not the problem It also doesnt register my test wasting strips This is a great concept when it works Hopefully they are working on improving it           Doesnt Recognize Device
I really liked this app Despite it not working in anything other than portrait orientation on my iPad it was pretty decent This last update to the app made it unable to work with my ipad anymore Now if you buy their meter and strips and test your glucose you will have to log onto their site to see your readings unless you have an iPhone iTouch or iWatch I really hope they fix it quickly If it takes too long I may have to switch back to my original monitor and strips     Bad update
After having this device and app for a few months I have had quite a few problems with the app recognizing the device How am I supposed to use it if the app never recognizes and launches the device for use Im glad I didnt pay for mine otherwise Id be asking for a refund Im going back to my one touch meter           Good when it works
I like the newest release but it has number pretty severe bugs that lose log data account and current test strip bottle info Improvements Layout and forms are much easier to use Info graphics real help report screen and the user interface Statistical reports on the logs are much more useful and easy to understand Problems Facebook account requires authentication each time the app is switched to not just opened for 1st time Error message that goes with this notes the account has been deleted This bad message to send to the user about their logged data If the user switches to an ihealth account all long data is left on the other Facebook one there needs to an option to migrate to ihealth from Facebook or to move log data between accounts After reauthenticating getting the app and the Bluetooth meter to resync can bet troublesome I found I sometimes needed to unpair the meter from the phone the repair them to get the meter to work with app Related to the account issues is an issue that the app forgets which test strip bottle you are on after authenticating After the meter links to the app you need to rescan the or code Not a huge deal just a pain to do each test Finally the worse issue currently is the app seems to forget any extra data added to the log Carbs exercise and meds all seem to be lost after hitting the update button Only time meter readings seem to be recorded consistently        Latest release has better layout but lots of bugs
Crashes so much it is unusable     Constantly crashes
Im a Medical Student that was formally employed designing devices similar to these before working to help people I found this system to be confusing and untrustworthy Please for your own sake dont buy this productuse this system Buying a OneTouch and writing it out on paper or graphing it in excel would be a better option The people that designed this app did a POOR job And i would not want anyone to use this to monitor their blood sugar Especially if you are INSULIN DEPENDENT Please DO NOT buy For your own sake I would also be more than happy to inform any company representative to the list of reasons why their product is completely unsatisfactory for medical use Feel free to email me I stand by the fact that everyone should NOT use this product     Please Dont Use This System For your own Sake
Probably the most inaccurate meter available     Meter
I have been using this glucometer for the last two months and rate it high The accuracy is good I have compared it at my various glucose readings with three other meters and it falls well within the expected spread I measure before and after meals and my only problems are 1 I cannot tag the meal as B L or D Sometimes the software mistags the data throwing off my readings If I could tag perhaps multitab the aftermeal for breakfast used as the beforemeal for lunch it would make the graphs much more reliable 2 The iPhone screen is small and using the graphs to diagnose medication problems etc is difficult If there were a means to export it would be very helpful              Using for two months
I have been using this app and I didnt have problems except its quirkiness I update to the latest release this morning and found that it crashed immediately when I tried to start it I tried deleting it and reloading it Removing the Bluetooth connection Etc nothing works I have an iPhone 6plus It worked yesterday This is a bad update Dont upgrade it     Latest version crashes on startup
This product is bestinclass at addressing many problems facing diabetics App crashes in some scenarios where we try to pair with the meter once the app has already started PLEASE FIX THIS easy fix There is a bug in how you are recording times when blood sugars are measured without connecting to the phone When you synch the app sometimes claims that the reading was taken a few hours in the future at strange intervals Whats worse is that there is no option to update the time within the app with the correct one Somebody is screwing up the math when reconciling the system time on the meter and the actual time on the phone Please check this If you have diabetes I highly recommend you buy all your testing supplies from this company Even with the bugs I am finding this product is far superior to anything else Test strips cost 25 cents also              Awesome effort but careless mistakes in app and web
This has always been a really annoying app because it only works in portrait mode in the IPad 2 With the latest update they took care of that Now it doesnt work at all Period Wish theyd get some programmers cuz its a great ideajust doesnt work     Doesnt work at all
The Exercise recording feature worked the first week then stopped showing in the reports for my doctor You can see that I exercised on the iPhone but the PDF or spreadsheet report does not indicate exercise information any more Was this information removed from the app Horrible news if it was O dont like that exercise is not indicated in the printed results           Exercise Recording Issue
This device and app are proving to be very useful in management of my type 2 diabetes I really like how it has the ability to preselect prepost meal and other readings based on time of day I also have the option to change this easily The app is very easy to read and understand I use the BG5 device and have not had any issues with connecting it to my iPhone 6 There is a sequence you have to use but its not difficult at all The readings appear to be very accurate I like it so much Im buying the blood pressure monitor and scale as well It also automatically links to the apple Health app without any configuration on my part Very good product                 Very nice app
Contacted Customer Service and they not only worked with me but they sent me a new device because the one that I had was defective Thanks iGluco Support Team Everything is back on track It used to be reliable but now its not Sometimes it connects sometimes it dont Sometimes it scans my new test strips most time it dont Hate that I will have to go back to my old method of checking my glucose Like the product love the idea but hate that its not reliable                 Issuesupdate
The latest update will not allow me to save manual entries on my IOS 7 driven iPhone 5 It still encourages me to allow access to the mic Why     Performs OK
1 wont recognize glucometer if plugged in before app is activated Apps can do that I have a few that do see Range thermometer for example 2 patriarchal nonsense disabling buttons like ate a meal at times of day the app creator disapproves of Its midnight I ate at 10pm I cant mark my 2 hour test as postmeal 3 Message warning that strips are running low has on 3 occasions made the app exit making it lose track of the glucometer and not measure the blood in the strip wasting a strip 4 not the app per se but the device is sold as having a 6 month battery life I bought mine in November Ive replaced the battery 4 or 5 times Manufacturer claims the batteries must have been shipped discharged and sent me 2 more after the initial pair failed They werent any better The ones I bought on amazon are lasting a bit longer update for new version Now it takes minutes to test because it deletes my account requires I reconnect with facebook then I can plug in the damned device whereupon it will need to scan the bottle yet again after which I have to unplug the damned thing wait a few moments plug it back in and then wait a few more before I can put a strip in it I cant believe they managed to make it even more inconvenient to use Now I cant even see my previous readings without the damned meter plugged in and my account recreated And with the new app the patriarchical bull continues Its 11am That DOES NOT MEAN its a before lunch reading I wont have lunch for at least 4 or 5 more hours If I didnt have 6 more vials of the strips to use and hope that they might hire someone competent before they run out Id set fire to the stupid thing and go back to the onetouch     Idiotic
UPDATED Customer care was great Problem was fixed very quickly The whole reason I invested in this app was because of the convenience of having the readings integrated with Health so that I could share them with my doctor Since the last update Health integration is completely missing I feel like Ive spent all this money for nothing Whats the point of having such an advanced device if my readings are still trapped within an app and I have to manually export everything any time I need to share it with my doc                 Fixed Health sync broken
iHealth Labs deserves a lot of credit for bringing a Bluetooth blood glucose meter to the market without gouging diabetics for the test strips 25 cents a strip versus Lifescans 130 per strip Yes the iOS app still needs some work including better explanation for the Access to Microphone privacy warning Since the BG1 Align meter plugs into the iPhone headphone jack that has a microphone contact in the jack the meter needs access to this contact in order to work Not so the BG5 Bluetooth meter for which a user can safely ignore the Microphone prompt Overall I think the app shows a LOT of potential for being an affordable easy to use alternative The fact that it works with two meters and its competition is 5x more expensive to use is even more reason to look forward to updates              Lots of potential looking forward to updates
I love the app that works so well with I I health glucose meter It is not only easy to access but very easy to track blood sugar levels Best thing I ever added to my phone the device itself is also so compact I would recommend this product to anyone wanting to track blood sugar levels                 I gluco
Like the fact it can talk to HealthKit However for activity I wish they would add before meal and after meal testing as that is what my Dr recommends           Seems OK
Overall good app design but the UI needs to be optimized for an iPhone 6 Plus Asis the app looks a bit ugly on a bigger screen Much more importantly When the app first runs it asks for HealthKit permissions to write blood glucose however it does NOT ask to read things like height weight birthdate etc from HealthKit The information is there so iHealth needs to read that data instead of asking the user to enter it manually This is especially important for weight which can fluctuate on a daily basis           Good but could be better
Its so convenientI can talk my blood sugar level with my doctor via emailThe reminder is essentialwithout which I will often forget to record my blood sugar levelThe trends graphics is goodwhich showes my blood sugar changing directlyThe app can connect to my blood glucose meter quicklyIt just like a miniassistantlook forward to next update                 Cool assistant
I have been using this app for about 6 months now It is reliable and connectssyncs well with the iHealth glucometer There are two main features that I like most The first is the detailed trend and data analysis that the app provides The second is the reminder feature that tells you when you are close to being out of test strips I would highly recommend this app along with the iHealth glucometer                 Great app for monitoring blood glucose
The latest update is broke When I put a test strip in on the BT meter it launches the app but says my account has been deleted Re login with Facebook and the app doesnt recognize I have a strip in the meter Please fix this now It is useless     Resent update broke
Only reads the strip some of the time Frustrating and a waste     What The
IGluco is s great technology However its reading are always 30 plus degrees higher than my FreeStyle Lite meter for some reason Had the same problem with iBGStar I use both meter Today found new update and although theres a plus at the top of the page I can no longer add the value from my FreeStyle Lite meter manually My doctor follows this information closely So I hope it will get fixed in the next update Otherwise I like the concept Im not sure if the measurement system is higher for any particular reason I find USA made meters have lower readings I hope were not fooling ourselves in the process     Adding Reading
I am very happy with this app overall The test strips are affordable if your insurance doest cover it like mine I havent had any syncing problems and I can send a report to my doctor from the iHealth website Its also very handy to have my blood sugar readings on my phone for when I visit my doctor My only complaint is that if you take a reading after 10pm it wont let you tag that reading as being after meal I work late and often eat late so I end up with some inaccurate records I have to manually adjust my reports before sending them to my doctor              Solid app needs a little work
Read the details a few times trying to figure out WHY it wants to access my mic In the app it doesnt even tell you why it just keeps asking for access to it     Why does this app want to access my microphone
Using iPhone 6 with iHealth Align Created account signed in kept prompting to scan QR code on the test strip vial Almost 99 of the time it freezes at that point and therefore cannot get past that point Only once was I able to get thru that screen However when I tried to run test for some reasons the app will say it cannot connect to the meter So far it never worked once since I bought it What a complete waste of money it simply does not work How can other give 5 stars when it is not working or need to speak to representative or work intermittently There is something seriously wrong If it does not work 99 of the time you need to give 1 or at most 2 stars The only thing going of this product is that nice packaging a la Apple products but what does it matter if the actual product does not work Spend the time and effort in the actual product     Does not work Dont waste your money
Awesome app and equipment With the latest iPhone update the blood glucose on the health app has disappeared Wish this wasnt gone           Needed update
This app has really allowed me to take control of my type 2 diabetes Its so easy to use and works great with my iHealth wireless smart Gluck monitoring system Gives very accurate readings and stores them Two great products                 Great App
This app when combined with the meter really makes taking and logging measurements easier than my old method The I no longer need to manually record my readings and I can add useful notes about meals exercise and dosage It is also easy for me to share my readings              Really Makes a Difference
