FINAL FANTASY III -- now on iPad First released in 1990, FINAL FANTASY III was the first title in the FINAL FANTASY series to become a million-seller, establishing once and for all that Square Enix`s classic ...
Final Fantasy III is one the last FF games that I have downloaded from the Apple store Mostly because I heard that it was slow it is a bit at the beginning and that the final dungeon is very long difficult yes it s a bit lengthy but by that time the game becomes really challenging fun Just prepare well save often and if you are like me and don t want or have time to slog around looking for where to go next there are several free guides walkthroughs online that will help Probably a bit antiquated compared to more modern FF games but I really think that if you enjoy classic RPG I remember playing Ultima which gives you an idea of how old a gamer I am you will most likely enjoy FF III Great graphics awesome music and after the obligatory warm up it becomes a wonderfully unique game playing experience                     Enjoyed thoroughly Proanonymous
Great game but please add support for controllers     No controller support MisterDispleased
I mistakenly bought this game thinking it was a universal app and that I could use an MFI controller like on the iPhone version Well you can t I can t fathom why Square Enix would have controller support for a 4 6 inch screen display but not for the larger iPad screen I m guessing they won t ever update this either I also noticed the opening cutscene that plays in the beginning of the game menu is gone and it s just the word version Not sure why they removed it but there s some really bonehead decisions going by on around here Just beware before you purchase Technically I should blame the Nimbus companion app for not clarifying that FFIII controller support is only on the iPhone but yeah             Beware the iPad version no controller support Christian A. I just got the iPhone 7 plus and tried download all of the Final Fantasy versions to it finding out that this is iPad version is not supported unless I pay another 15 for no major difference I ll still give it 4 of 5 stars because it is still a great game                 Supports only the IPad unlike some of the other FF which support both the iPad and the iPhone Ultimate Rewards
The game is great and the cloud back up save works between the iPhone version and the iPad version even though this game is not a universal app I know the cloud back up save works because I accidentally bought the iPhone version to play on my iPad thinking that it was a universal app just as the rest in the series on the App Store I was using my mfi controller when I discovered that I bought the iPhone version and the controller worked great But since I wanted the iPad version I contacted apple for a refund to buy the version I wanted When I bought the iPad version I was surprised that there was no controller support I do not want to contact apple again for a refund in order to play a version with controller support especially since the iPad is the more likely platform to use a controller with In short please add controller support to this great game Thank you             Controller support please uhadi
The remaster itself is very good however the game is still the most cheap final fantasy I have played out of about the 10 I have played If you do not like level grinding then this game definitely isn t for you but even given that notion this game has some bosses that will 1 hit your entire party almost regardless of your level if you are unlucky Get final fantasy 5 it is a more balanced game that still keeps the job system but has less grinding and has much more fair boss battles             Cheap Cheap battles
Awesome gameplay very happy with my purchase Was a little standoffish to play this 3D version but I am very glad I did Not a good game for those who hate level grinding because you have both character level and 23 job levels to master though you certainly don t HAVE to grind all jobs and character level to 99 Well worth purchasing any Final Fantasy fan will enjoy the game Game mechanics are virtually flawless                     Excellent game Jonny Blazer1101
The iPhone version of the game has been updated with controller support and yet after so long the iPad version which needs support for controller more than the iPhone version still doesn t have it It s sad that nowadays game developers focus so much on freemium games with basically no decent content and do a crappy job with paid games that doesn t make money on user addictions     Need controller support M.Wu
This game worked very well on iPad Easy to play and very fun                     Great design and controls Mlahk7
Seems like it was specifically designed for a touch screen Very simple and smooth The only thing I would add is a similar battle system to DQVIII on iOS In particular to select the actions of the entire party at once It s a pain to have to individually select every action of every character                     They should remake every FF like this future-tech
I must for ff fans This plays very well on ipad                     Fantastically ported for iPad Mhewski
The game that Pokemon ripped off the third game in the series takes people on a quest for a diamond or something The gameplay is fun since it was from 1990 The only problem is that Pokemon kinda ripped off the story with the random encounters and stuff Either way the game is still fun and I hope to play the fourth one This review was brought to you by Pokemon gotta catch all the games                 Final Fantasy 3 Officer Reviews Hitman1774
why this game not support cross platform to iPhone and it was in separate price but the others FF games are cross compatible for both that s not fair     not fair Machi Mavz
Needs MFi controller support C             Good game Missing one key feature Inangus
Ignore the 1 star trolls complaining about trivial inconveniences like controller support etc For the normal iPad user this is one of the best true turned based RPGs ever made                     Best turned based RPG Floyd Morton
I ve really enjoyed this game since it was released on the App Store for the iPad however that was before I got an iPhone I m now in college and I want to download my game onto my iPhone I m a big fan of the Final Fantasy series so please Square Enix do your fans a favor and make FFIII a universal app Here s an idea make both versions universal that way nobody loses their copy of the game or pay for it twice Do that and I ll give the game a 5 star rating             Make both versions universal Echo1230
Nice upgrade of graphics Playing through all of these FF games After playing FF1 this game is beautiful                     Great game Alnitak74
I really like this game but now it won t stop telling me that I can save with Cloud                 Nice but won t stop telling me about Cloud Save restaurantpattybob
Why does the iPhone version have mfi controller support but this more expensive version doesn t Once again Square Enix falls short of expectations Great old games ruined by a lack of updates or at least long gaps between them I mean come on Chrono Trigger is one of the best RPGs of all time and it took like 6 months just to update it for retina screens let alone the fact that they allowed the game to have the worst virtual control pad in history and still no mfi support or universal version Shame once again Square Enix from someone who has spent thousands on Squaresoft Enix products since 1988 Please fire whomever is in charge of your mobile department because they have basically left millions of potential dollars on the table and walked away with people still begging to give more     No Controllers DarthMadeus
Good                     Good TYMing613
Square Enix please get your apps together FFIV is a universal app but lacks iCloud saving FFIII has iCloud saving but if you want to use it you need to buy two separate apps To top that off you offer an application bundle which includes the FFIII iPhone version but not the FFIII iPad version so if I just want to use an iPad only as I don t currently have any other iDevices the bundle is useless to me Currently I use an iPad mini and am considering switching to an iPhone 6 Unless this is resolved FFIII will be left behind forever as I m not going to shell out another 16 for something I already paid for     Separate iPhone and iPad versions need to go away caseyandgina
I like the final fantasy games however when you purchase the iPad version you should have it count toward the bundle It doesn t If you purchase the bundle you don t get credit for the iPad version of final fantasy iii Please fix this             Good game but Gameadventurer
Long story short I paid full price for this game got rid of my ipad and went to redownload the app only to discover that I d have to pay another 15 bucks for the iphone version Seriously     not universal vote4pedro45465645
I thought like most games that the iPad and iPhone versions would be the same app My mistake Please cancel my purchase and refund my money     iPhone support not included Gorilla87
I would be happy to rate this higher if it had controller support like the iphone version Instead we get cloud saving so you can share your save between the iPad and the iPhone version that you have to buy separately this is just sloppy and a slap in the face of everyone who paid for this     Controller support Exd3ath
I ve played a number of Final Fantasy games through the years but not many of the older ones Glad to get a chance to play through 3 I just finished the game and while the story wasn t as enthralling as later installments it was executed well on iOS It was well done enough to convince me to purchase FFIV for what it s worth                     Not too shabby Al Oser
This is one of the more underrated JRPGs It may be hard if you don t like level grinding but the storyline is excellent and the gameplay and battles are very deep and strategic Highly recommended                 Excellent DroppingSky3
It s awesome you can hold 2 weapons I like the graphics and how you attack I would of never thought final fantasy is this cool                     Definitely the best rpg I played App freak head
Pleas add One of my fav games that would be better with my controller                 Add ios 7 controller support for game pads chungston
I love this game a lot The graphics are crisp the Helvetia font is good The audio is also great but this game need auto battle due to grind sessions Square I get that this is a port but you can still add something special Square I know that you are busy but check back on the app games The improvements are needed in this game The reason why this is 5 star it is because this game is so great that all flaws don t matter Also people After the first boss wait until the credits end the game will start ok But anyway these flaws are petty I think this game is still good I give this game a 9 9 10 due to the bugs this game is a MUST                     I love this game Square add auto battle Splashe21
While I agree with many users here that compared to it s Nintendo DS counterpart is a hell of a steal at the price of around 15 is still at the high end of the pricing spectrum when comparing with other apps in the App Store And for 15 Square forgoes adding some of the features that truly make this title cream of the crop Namely in particular the lack of a universal App and iCloud support for seamless cross iOS device playability For these two absent but very important features for me Square misses the mark And what s more disappointing is that Square corrects ones of the aforementioned negatives but still misses mark yet again not once not twice but three times over with the follow ups FFIV FFIV AY and FFV Those titles finally become universal but it s not until the recent release of FFVI that Square finally gets the picture Truly this is an amazing game but at this relatively high price for an iOS app it deserves the same treatment as FFVI did Square please go back and give these past Final Fantasy releases universal and iCloud support 5 star reviews pending                 Not quite the best purchase I ve made for my iPad IcarasX
controller support please analog controller support would be even better     CONTROLLER SUPPORT Berto808
I love how iPhones get controller support they are already hand held not to mention there version looks horrible air played but iPad users who paid more or like me bought the game separate for both devices get squat         Where is our controller support ImmortalSin
I ve spent 16 dollars on this game and I can t down load it because it causes my IPad to freeze up and my other apps to stop working correctly I ve deleted it twice and downloaded it twice still the same problem How do I get my money back I wouldn t give 1 star     What a rip Off Aprfool1960
This game was ported so well Not a single crash or slow down the entire game I finished the game completely with side quests The game design itself is a masterpiece The game music with headphones is like being in a concert hall The graphics and animations for abilities are amazing especially the summoner s Perfect port of an awesome game that has it all                     Masterpiece Bschultz0
Terrible save system and I got stuck at the top of a waterfall and couldn t get back down My only choice now is to start a new game Waste of 16         Not worth it DinoDNA
I love the final fantasy games this is the only one I never played on the console But I love it                     Great Brian Adams
Great old school RPG with nice graphics on my new IPad Air Ignore the people on the save issues You can do a permanent save anywhere in the over world No saves in towns or dungeons                     Great game Zer0Gap
Where s the music FF with no music is not cool         No Music No Magic trickypuss
First game i bought above 5 There really is a difference with a game like this compared to an angry birds This game is hours an hours of play side quests missions Its not a game you beat in a couple days Glad i finally caved in and bought it It is my 1 game on my ipad now                     Great Twitte222
Bunch of crap cant cast mini with other players STICK IT     Final fantsy 111 Russell wolf
Great game but With all of the grinding in this game you d think SE would know we need the auto battle function I could code one in 10 mins if I had access to the code Please change this SE             No auto battle Dragon warrior reborn
This is a long review so I ll tl dr the main points first and expand on them later 1 17 is a steal for this game The only thing better would be finding FFVII for Pad for 17 2 Saving is it frustrating you Take a moment to read a review on how it works mine or someone else s Other saving reviews are more succinct than mine 3 The iPad version is the same as the DS game though there are other differences Overall I prefer using the DS to play but the Mognet changes look promising Full Review I bought this game years ago for Nintendo DS for about 40 and it was worth every penny I have played through it several times except for the mognet related side quests as I never could get it to access my wireless and didn t have any local friends who played it Sending messages to RL friends was necessary to completing those side quests and achieving the ultimate weapons I wanted to see how the iPad version differed and maybe do those side quests now It has a great story awesome graphics considering they were designed for the original DS and versatility It is a largely linear story but there s wiggle room within that My fastest play through time is 50 hours on the main story but I tend to over level before the final boss Next I ll discuss saving So the two save options 1 Full Save From the main map screen you can perform a full save using the save button This is the only save that is permanent Do a full save before every dungeon and regularly when exploring the main map You re on the main map when walking between towns sailing and on the airship There are three game slots you can save to 2 Quicksave Now if you are in town or a dungeon and have to walk away from the game perform a quicksave This is the only save you can do in a dungeon and it is a temporary save It will shut the game down after you quicksave This is important so take note after quicksaving when you return to the title screen and resume the game you must select continue Any other option will erase the quicksave And once you have chosen continue and the game has restarted the save data is erased If you leave again you must quicksave again It was like this in the DS version There are ample opportunities for conducting full saves in the game Full save before every dungeon and if you die you start back at the beginning of the dungeon Finally differences between platforms Mognet from what I can tell so far it s the same as the DS version except for the Mognet Mognet no longer lets you send messages to friends but at the same time that should mean it doesn t require that for sidequests Movement you control movement with a touch joystick You don t have to touch the character to do this so you can play this like you would on a handheld console but virtual joystick means I don t always know where my fingers are in relation to that Double tapping just like in the DS version when changing out equipment using magic or targeting first you tap to move the cursor to the option you want and then you tap again to actually select it Graphics bigger on the iPad You can see them better but they still were designed for the DS s screen The iPad lacks the DS s second screen so features that used the second screen in the DS aren t in the iPad Most notably the shop interface is different In the DS your characters were visible in the upper screen and would wave to you when you when you clicked on an item they could use Saving in the app it feels awkward on the iPad This is because of how the iPad works for changing between apps pinching them closed The saves were designed for a handheld console If you close the app and open it again later you may return to where you were in the game or you might end up at the start screen I could see it being very easy to get into the habit of walking away for a minute getting distracted coming back and losing your progress                     FFIII Saving and DS vs iPad Knitplainswoman
The audio sound quality is VERY BAD Totally unacceptable in a Final Fantasy title where Nobuo Uematsu s compositions and the sound effects are very important Fix this     BAD AUDIO Fix the sound quality EVA UNIT - CURTIS
The constant job changing throughout the game is a nice challenge and I really enjoyed the story Def worth the price tag imo                 Very fun game FinalistNfantasy
A fantastic game from its release on this new port a DS copy is worth every penny For those of you idiots who don t seem to understand how quicksaving works as has been stated it s a temporary pause for those who have to do something aka life before returning It is NOT an autosave If memory serves me only the very recent FFs have ever included the sort The true saving is through normal means Please understand how a simple mechanic works before you go off the deep end                     A must have for any JRPG nut grimckee
I m very unhappy with the save feature on this game Who wants to start over every time If an app costs 16 and its published by the company responsible for Final Fantasy then we should all be given something for being duped I really enjoy final fantasy and this one mimics the games I grew up on but why publish a game that you can t even save Especially a RPG such as Final Fantasy Some people have posted remedies but on the apps page in the features section it specifically says that if you update to iOS5 without a slot saved that you will be unable to create a save slot Hope they fix this feature soon             16 Game you can t save Bambi8D
The save feature is not broken at least not on mine You can save at save points inside dungeons or anywhere outside                     Great game J_.*
Those of you using this need to realize it is only meant for when you have to leave and come back As soon as you continue from a quicksave it is wiped away so only true saves will save your progress if you should die                     Quick save Siushaga
This is a great remake and its now available on my iPad sweet Game deserves a 5 Complaint This is a direct port from the nintendo DS remake which makes some features feel forced For this reason i rate this game a 4 because of Square Enix s decision to be lazy Other things you may need to note Buying the iPad version does not mean you can play it on iPhone nor does the iPhone version play on iPad the purchases are separate Apparently People can t figure out the quick save feature People need to read plain an simple When you quick save you do not save to a file but a temporary file which has only one function and that is to keep your current State This means when you start the application again you must choose continue if you choose any other file the state is lost If you load the State then the State is Erased Means you can t Die and load the state again FF3 was one of the toughest games in my memory and the quick save feature was not available in the original It s not meant to be used as a restart point incase you enter a dungeon under leveled or as a save point before a boss In other news Life isn t fair                 Definitely worth your money Lagamn
A fantastic game from its release on this new port a DS copy is worth every penny For those of you idiots who dont seem to understand how quicksaving worksas has been stated its a temporary pause for those who have to do something aka life before returning It is NOT an autosave If memory serves me only the very recent FFs have ever included the sort The true saving is through normal means Please understand how a simple mechanic works before you go off the deep end                 A musthave for any JRPG nut

Great game                 Love it
I love the final fantasy gamesthis is the only one I never played on the console But I love it                 Great

I love this game enough to splurge 18 for it and have enjoyed my decision since I have but one complaintplease fix the save button Its frustrating to have to start over each time that you dieso frustrating              Classic
controller support please analog controller support would be even better     CONTROLLER SUPPORT
Those of you using this need to realize it is only meant for when you have to leave and come back As soon as you continue from a quicksave it is wiped away so only true saves will save your progress if you should die                 Quick save
I must for ff fans This plays very well on ipad                 Fantastically ported for iPad
The audiosound quality is VERY BAD Totally unacceptable in a Final Fantasy title where Nobuo Uematsus compositions and the sound effects are very important Fix this     BAD AUDIO Fix the sound quality
Originally an NES game from 1990 this is an epic RPG that stands the test of time Its also been rereleased to the Nintendo DS for 40 as well as iOS for 15 so you cant complain about the price here The graphics arent FF13 level but it is has its own beauty I was a bit skeptical of the interface at first thinking itd be clumsy and difficult but the developers made good use of the touchpad so controlling your character is smooth and easy The games world is massive and free roaming the character types and leveling is complex tons of equipment to acquire and the story is deep It takes at least 4050 hours to beat the story unless youre more thorough like me I took 90 to beat the main story on first playthrough and now Im on my second going for 100 complete Its gonna take a while After the main story theres optional quests and a hidden dungeon which I havent gotten to yet Battles are strategyturnbased and similar to Pokemon except with up to 4 fighters on your side at once and you encounter enemies as your roam the world 29 main story bosses and many many dungeons FF3 is a classic Japanese RPG and one of the greatest of its time and maybe ever Ask your parents or skip lunch and buy this game The best purchase on iPad Ive ever made Well worth the hours of fun                 Best purchase on iPad Ive ever made

Great game but With all of the grinding in this game youd think SE would know we need the auto battle function I could code one in 10 mins if I had access to the code Please change this SE           No auto battle
Very Old School game with updated graphics hours and hours of FF fun If you grew up with the NES and SNES Games youll find much pleasure in this JRPG classic Very cool JobClass System and huuuge over world Hard to believe that this was originally a NES game                 JRPG Classic
Good                 Good
Making it so I have to pay again to get it on my IPhone also is just messed up     Doesnt transfer to IPhone
This is one of the more underrated JRPGs It may be hard if you dont like level grinding but the storyline is excellent and the gameplay and battles are very deep and strategic Highly recommended              Excellent

RIDICULOUS Using quicksave feature FREQUENTLY and die Guess what No save info Start over I know my tech especially my ipad I am doing what I AM supposed to why isnt the app Wasted 10 Want my money back So disappointed I used to love this game and was looking forward to playing it on my iPad     Die and start over
Needs auto save just played for a good while died and now have to start from the beginning again              Great but
I love this game a lot The graphics are crispthe Helvetia font is good The audio is also great but this game need auto battle due to grind sessions Square I get that this is a port but you can still add something special Square I know that you are busy but check back on the app games The improvements are needed in this game The reason why this is 5 star it is because this game is so great that all flaws dont matter Also people After the first boss wait until the credits end the game will start ok But anyway these flaws are petty I think this game is still good I give this game a 9910 due to the bugs this game is a MUST                 I love this game Square add auto battle
Terrible save system and I got stuck at the top of a waterfall and couldnt get back down My only choice now is to start a new game Waste of 16        Not worth it

Bunch of crapcant cast mini with other playersSTICK IT     Final fantsy 111
Long story short I paid full price for this game got rid of my ipad and went to redownload the app only to discover that Id have to pay another 15 bucks for the iphone version Seriously     not universal
This is a great remake and its now available on my iPad sweet Game deserves a 5 Complaint This is a direct port from the nintendo DS remake which makes some features feel forced For this reason i rate this game a 4 because of Square Enixs decision to be lazy Other things you may need to note Buying the iPad version does not mean you can play it on iPhone nor does the iPhone version play on iPad the purchases are separate Apparently People cant figure out the quick save feature People need to read plain an simple When you quick save you do not save to a file but a temporary file which has only one function and that is to keep your current State This means when you start the application again you must choose continue if you choose any other file the state is lost If you load the State then the State is Erased Means you cant Die and load the state again FF3 was one of the toughest games in my memory and the quick save feature was not available in the original Its not meant to be used as a restart point incase you enter a dungeon under leveled or as a save point before a boss In other news Life isnt fair              Definitely worth your money
Wheres the music FF with no music is not cool        No Music No Magic
I like the final fantasy games however when you purchase the iPad version you should have it count toward the bundle It doesnt If you purchase the bundle you dont get credit for the iPad version of final fantasy iii Please fix this           Good game but
I love how iPhones get controller support they are already hand held not to mention there version looks horrible air playedbut iPad users who paid more or like me bought the game separate for both devices get squat        Where is our controller support
After waiting 4 or 5 months after iPhone update with controller support we finally get an update It just doesnt include the controller support that privileged iPhone users get     Severely irritated
I really like this game but now it wont stop telling me that I can save with Cloud              Nice but wont stop telling me about Cloud Save
The game that Pokemon ripped off the third game in the series takes people on a quest for a diamond or something The gameplay is fun since it was from 1990 The only problem is that Pokemon kinda ripped off the story with the random encounters and stuff Either way the game is still fun and I hope to play the fourth one This review was brought to you by Pokemon gotta catch all the games              Final Fantasy 3 Officer Reviews
Square Enix please get your apps together FFIV is a universal app but lacks iCloud saving FFIII has iCloud saving but if you want to use it you need to buy two separate apps To top that off you offer an application bundle which includes the FFIII iPhone version but not the FFIII iPad version so if I just want to use an iPad only as I dont currently have any other iDevices the bundle is useless to me Currently I use an iPad mini and am considering switching to an iPhone 6 Unless this is resolved FFIII will be left behind forever as Im not going to shell out another 16 for something I already paid for     Separate iPhone and iPad versions need to go away
Ive really enjoyed this game since it was released on the App Store for the iPad however that was before I got an iPhone Im now in college and I want to download my game onto my iPhone Im a big fan of the Final Fantasy series so please Square Enix do your fans a favor and make FFIII a universal app Heres an idea make both versions universal that way nobody loses their copy of the game or pay for it twice Do that and Ill give the game a 5 star rating           Make both versions universal
Its a great game until you die because the save button does not work You have to start over Please fix soon              Save
The constant job changing throughout the game is a nice challenge and I really enjoyed the story Def worth the price tag imo              Very fun game
Ive spent 16 dollars on this game and I cant down load it because it causes my IPad to freeze up and my other apps to stop working correctly Ive deleted it twice and downloaded it twice still the same problem How do I get my money back I wouldnt give 1 star     What a rip Off
I thought like most games that the iPad and iPhone versions would be the same app My mistake Please cancel my purchase and refund my money     iPhone support not included
Fix all glitches i paid 16 on this awesome thing but the problem is that i got stuck at some water fall in the world map thing and cant get out and i dont feel like passing the game from the beginning so please fix all bugs so i can play again              One problem
Great old school RPG with nice graphics on my new IPad Air Ignore the people on the save issues You can do a permanent save anywhere in the over world No saves in towns or dungeons                 Great game
I would be happy to rate this higher if it had controller support like the iphone version Instead we get cloud saving so you can share your save between the iPad and the iPhone version that you have to buy separately this is just sloppy and a slap in the face of everyone who paid for this     Controller support
Nice upgrade of graphics Playing through all of these FF games After playing FF1 this game is beautiful                 Great game
