I downloaded dbmeter pro along with one other decibel reader program I also have a handheld decibel reader that I have used for some time The dbmeter pro program consistently recoded readings 15 a 20 decibels less than the other two Common logic tells me that when I am in a room where the music is very loud the other program as well as my hand held recording 90 dbs are much more accurate than the average 74 reading on dbmeter pro Readings are way too low Moneeman

Was a 5 star audio testing utility prior to its update which has severely crippled the functionality and usability experience making a simple task like a Tone Sweep cumbersome and annoying Check out Signal Generator by Media Punk Studios for a fantastic audio testing utility which closely resembles this applications interface before it was updated and destroyed Do not update or Purchase 'Austin'

With all the reviews I expected more Not remotely accurate I dont need it dead nuts but silence should be close to zero and it runs around 40db even fully adjusted down It will probably still work for what I got it for exhaust db comparison but some accuracy would have been nice Certainly not accurate enough to state what dbs an exhaust creates A bit disappointed

Wow I am trying to get the whole city of San Clemente CA police force to use these decibel meters so that they can ticket ultranoisy cars motorcycles and trucks And especially those vehicles with the bass set so low that the whole neighborhood around it vibrates and dogs go nuts howling I actually took readings around town with it to prove that a proposed rooftop nightclub would be waaaay too noisy for our residential part of town As a result our city turned down the rooftop nightclubs proposal Using THIS decibel meter because it is so accurate Decibel Meter Rocks

Back story I have the iPhone 4S The plan was to measure the noise in my car going 60 mph Then test drive new vehicles at the same speed and compare the new with the old and the new with the new Ultimately getting a better picture as to which has the more quiet interior Heres the problem it wont start at zero With no sound the calibration set at 1000 the best I can hope for is 37 Dont waist your This good news is regardless to the number I can still get a comparison Sub Par

A graph would have been nice but it works very well Regarding accuracy keep in mind that its using the iPhone iPad mic which is not exactly a sound engineering miracle Dont expect the same level of accuracy you would expect from a hardware SPL meter A lot of the critics complain about seeing 4050 db in a socalled quiet room Unless youre in a vacuum you will get some sound pressure level its normal Read the description before critic sing this or any other db mater Tech support was also very helpful Got some clear explanations from the app developer Nice app works well

I am a sound engineer and rely on volume levles to keep from damaging the ears of people that are listening to shows I needed a DB meter and didnt have one for a spot check This app I could tell from experience was reading low When tested against my usual Db meter it was almost 25 Db lower than the actual SPL This is unacceptable and this app should never be used for critical listeningor as one reviewer said to ticket exceptionally loud vehicles this app is not worth the money Worst app ever

I downloaded this app to test the interior noise level in my 2012 Camry prior to having the car sound proofed According to this meter the car idles at 50db and averages 55db at highway speeds This is contrary to Edmunds car specs which measures the 2012 Camry at 40db idling and 64db at highway speeds using an actual db meter Thats a pretty significant difference Another db app on the App Store seems to work great though Its called db Meter red and black icon That app nailed the 40 db idling and 64 db highway speed dead on I did give this app an extra star for a really great UI though If the devs fix the functionality Ill definitely update to 5 stars Not very accurate

I used to have a Radio Shack Decibel Meter until someone borrowed it and failed to return it In these days of the Mega Churches people need to know if the musicianssound board operators are turning out a rock concert volume or not Many people involved in the music industry have already damaged their hearing so badly that they dont know they are destroying yours too This tool is also useful for industries such as textiles and printing Very useful tool

Im installing sound deadening insulation in my car and wanted a definitive before and after measurement I drove down a stretch of highway near my home at 55 MPH before and after installing the insulation and was able to see the results on my phone I did the tests three times and the results were very repeatable Great app
I looked at a ton of different apps before I purchased this one Its a nice app and its accurate I only wish I could record db file and save it For this reason it gets a 4 Wish it could record
