I m formally from Pittsburg and I used to get the CC Times daily I ve since moved away now residing in Reno I found this app a while back and it was just like reading the newspaper of the old days I ve got several news apps but this was my favorite because of newspaper layout All of a sudden it is blocking me asking for an account name and password which I never had and it doesn t allow me to create one Am I supposed be a subscriber to the paper to get access That doesn t make sense why would I then need the app Too bad     Used to be my favorite but erherrer

Was fine until a few days ago but no longer works for me Unable to sign in now will not accept my user or password and no way to get help Formerly no username or password was needed Called EBTimes for help and they said that they would send a new password their email never arrived We pay for this but will not renew only did it for sports schedule and puzzles     East bay times "CeCe"

The last update has created an issue where the app inexplicably crashes I also hate the stupid new icon which replaced the familiar one that represented the edition I read I switched to this format after giving up on trying to have a paper delivered to my doorstep After 30 years of faithful delivery it now appears the paper is being delivered by contract carriers who have no motivation to remain employed So I switched to the e edition and it is not nearly as annoying as having to retrieve a paper from under a car out of a gutter or a bush or finding my house was passed by yet again but it is still annoying to deal with the frequent daily crashes     They broke it Paleo Schnauzer

I love it when it works It s great to read the local paper on my iPad when I commute or travel But I agree that this app is infuriatingly unstable I can t read more than a minute or two before the app closes and it takes too many steps and too much time to open it again It s been that way for years but it seems even worse now     Unstable All about the dog

This new app for the combined newspapers is completely unstable on my iPad and mini iPad Any movement of the page caused the app to close Then I tried to read an article not touch anything and the app closed The paper is unreadable till this is fixed     Unstable Watching my meals

I found no problem loading and using this app It is my daily paper The only problem I have with it is that it takes over a Gigabyte of space so sometimes I have to remove it to update software but I always seem to want it back                 I read it every day Whit1940

I didn t receive my paper again today and since they don t redeliver as they say they will I thought I would give the app a try I quickly found that like their delivery service their App is also garbage It works great until you want to get to page two and then it crashes Relaunch and it says I have no internet access while all of my other apps including Safari don t seem to have this problem Restart the iPad and the app and I get to page two yay I get to the end of section A and try to go to the next page and Crash After about two hours of trying to read the online version of the paper with crashes reboots and an overall enraging experience I have given up     Infuriating App Stuckonendor

After the past few days I m downgrading my 2 star review to a 1 If I could make it a 5 Star I would I can t get in to the paper for more than 30 seconds and it takes a loooong load time to get to that point It s completely unreadable as a paper and so maddening I think it s raising my blood pressure There s no way to get into the app to look for a tech support link of course I really don t say this lightly but they should fire the people responsible for this app My previous review is below Mostly the app does what it is supposed to do shows a page by page display and an index to allow jumping from section to section Maybe the slow load response time is on my side rather than the software That said the crashes are maddening I m writing this review because I was bounced out of the app twice in 3 minutes It makes me want to drop the subscription Also from time to time the pages come in and out of focus repeatedly like some demonic device aimed at giving you a major case of eyestrain Please CCT fix this app     It s 90 of a good app with the other 10 being infuriating e-book lover

Stability somewhat better but now I have to login EVERYDAY to open the paper IV been using this for a couple of years password free now you have to verify it daily You make it more and more difficult to use The latest update is horrible Crashed 4 times before I got to page A9 yesterday it crashed no fewer than 8 times while attempting to read the paper Pages go in and out of focus while reading even after turning off online mode Whatever they were trying to improve has been lost in all the bugs     Crashes TraecyMc

2012 When the times reduced my 7 day delivery down to three I began using the e edition The web version works but is clumsy I have been using the App on my iPad 2 for a week now and am ready to go back to clumsy Usability on the app is better than the web It operates nicely with the iPad in both portrait and landscape modes However the app crashes a lot at least once per reading Sometimes 3 or more times UPDATE Crashes less now However the main page A1 is still a low res picture If there is something there to read you are forced to use the Web app What s the point Still the worst e reader out there 3 6 13 No improvement A1 still unreadable still crashes I have an iPad2 16g 11 2014 no improvement Don t bother with this app     Still Not ready for use Bearion

I have used this app for about nine months Every time I read the current day s paper it crashes at least once then you have to wait for it to reload again Pages are blurry and again you have to wait for a while until they clear up Don t understand what the options are all about there s no instructions Emailed the paper but have never received a response     Crashes a lot Jan0x

This latest version is terrible at loading the latest paper The paper with today s date is listed but when you tap on it you return to a blank screen It is 10 15 on Saturday morning and I still cannot load today s paper         Contra Costa Times Lippezon

I really enjoy having the e edition on my phone and iPad It is much more convenient than from a PC However the app is very clumsy slow and buggy Work out some of these bugs and have it work smoothly and this is definitely a 5 star app then         Great idea if it wasn t so buggy Sfgiantsfan31

I am a year long subscriber to the e version of the CC times A few initial issues with this app 1 It does not focus when you zoom in You must zoom in to read the articles The articles are blurry and illegible Their customer support staff said they have sent the issue to the developer for what thats worth Since this has been an issue from roll out previously remarked upon and unresolved I won t hold my breath 2 As of 02 August the CC times is revoking service for all users have not set up a custom username and password but they refuse to provide a link to allow customers to do so 3 Yes Concur with other reports of slow to load 4 Two finger tap for text version does not work either And one issue with content 1 CC times does not publish the Sunday comics Very disappointed with this edition as it appears the internet website content is all the CC times will allow users to view after 02 August as they are deactivating all accounts on that date see below version has limited content I don t know why the CC times is doing this to customers but don t bother subscribing to the e version with a goal of using the iPad interface and don t bother with the iPad app if you are a current e version reader It is illegible Shame really It had potential Maybe they are trying to force all customers to subscribe to the print edition but if you live out of state this is not very practical Bad job CC times Bad job Update one or two pages legible in Sunday edition That s it No refresh option to try and force a reload to get a version that will focus I really really wish the app store would allow negative star ratings so you don t have to give it a star to post a review Bad app store Update 2 apparently the optimistic folks at the CC times aren t going to publish the link to enable subscribers to update their username and passwords until the SAME DAY they are requiring the accounts to be updated thereby guaranteeing an overload of simultaneous update requests So if you don t update the user name and password on the 2nd it will non longer work Per the CC times On Tuesday August 2 2011 we are changing how you login to e Edition We are launching a new Customer Care web site which will give you the ability to register a unique username and password to login to e Edition Starting August 2 2011 your old e Edition username and password will no longer be active You will need to create a unique username and password on our Customer Care web site to login to e Edition So as you can clearly see they are deactivating all accounts Tuesday but no link to a customer care site til Tuesday so your account will most likely be deactivated before you can log in to find the allegedly forthcoming Customer Care site Talk about a circular conundrum Bottom line Don t bother with CC Times til they get their act together with their subscription services to the e edition because you need a subscription to use the iPad edition which doesn t work anyway     Not worth it blurry illegible Subscription required but no ability to create account Gr82BeUW

I love the newspaper format so finally getting to read it on my iPad is great The app is a bit glitchy and sometimes pages are blurry and the text version doesn t download The formatting in the text version is readable but not good It needs to strip out the formatting such as manual line breaks etc it pulls from the store which I presume were added when formatting it for news print The app also won t load inline images in text mode It tries but it ends up with a blank box I hope in the future the app is more than an exact duplicate recycle of the printed edition There s no reason for black and white pages especially images in the iPad version It would be nice got have full color on all pages             A start but not perfect vacantsouls
