Balboa Water Group - WiFi Spa Control

Its exactly what you want except it usually doesnt work The only thing worse that screwing around programming the spaside control panel is trying to get this thing connected Ive still never found a reliable way to reset and get connected Its at least 30 minutes of aggravation every time Then it works for a day or two at best Really a waste of money Cant believe this made it out to customers like this Just burn your money it will be faster and less painful     Great when it works which isnt often or for very long

I wish I had read these reviews before splurging for the wifi on my new spa I got it for my spa at my vacation home thinking it would be a great way to monitor and control the temp between renters I have had it for 2 months and out of the 50 tries to get it to work away from home it has only worked 3 times Sometimes it works when Im right next to it but even then I frequently have to power down and reset the whole thing It has been a huge frustration Ive called Balboa several times and they keep telling me its my connection not the app Have they not read these reviews My connection is strong and I know its not the problem Its hard to fathom why they cant fix this I paid good money for this and now Im paying even more for my electric bills since I cant turn it down remotely Wifi spa control is a great idea but worthless if it doesnt function properly     Save your pennies

Pain to setup it needs to do the search for available networks and then connect without closing app and restarting Worked for about a week If theres a brownout you need to power tub down and restart to reconnect app Not good if youre traveling and need to monitor system        Wifi

Ive read the other reviews and have not had the same negative experiences It did take a few tries to get it to connect to its own WiFi but I never had to powerdown the spa I only waited a few minutes and tried again I entered my own local network information then connected over my network After that it would connect using my phones 4G network Ive only been using it a short while but it works great so far                 Works Great

The balboa spa pak I bought worked fine but I wish I never bought the wifi device it was a waste of 300 it never really worked well enough for me to use it for what I bought it for     Dont buy the wifi device

Hard to set up then it does not stay or save have never had it work correclly     crap

The only connection that works with any kind of consistency is when you connect directly to the module from your handheld device Forget about a sustained connection to your wifi 400 down the drain     Crap

Like everyone else needed to reboot constantly would not stay connected Wifi signal is 90 I called the store that sold me the spa and they were great They replaced it Been one hour so cant tell yet if it will fix the problem I am hopeful and optimistic     Does not work reliably

On my second WiFi module based on inability to connect to this Balboa App My results are consistent with other reviews WiFi module connection to this app worked well for 2 weeks Now I can only connect if I reboot the hot tub     WiFi Module

I agree with the previous review The chip loses connection from my wifi once a week and I have to reboot my spa to get it to connect again Please also remove the forced demo screen when you open the app Great idea needs an update        Needs work

I travel a lot and thought this would be a great way to be sure everything was going OK with my hot tub when Im out of town I replaced a perfectly functioning controller and top panel Boy was I wrong The system seldom works more than a day or two before I have to do a power reset in order to get it back up and running In addition its very annoying to have to connect to the hot tub or choose demo mode EVERY time the app is opened If I have a hot tub with the system installed why would I EVER choose demo mode Let me disable demo mode and be done with it Just more evidence of how poorly Balboa thought out this product Truly as others have said SAVE YOUR MONEY     At least Demo Mode is reliable

This product is useless You have to log out of your home network and onto a separate network just for the hot tub If you use this app with a device you are using for other things as virtually everyone does you have to keep logging off one network and on to another And the range is so small I cant even use it except on the deck around the hot tub where I already have a built in controller These reviews cant be telling you anything you dont already know Make it happen for us     Dont waste your money

Wow all I can say is terrible This app and this control pack are horrible Wish I wouldve saved the money and bought a better spa     Dont waste your money

A customer of ours recently installed a spa with Balboa products We are all using iPhone 6s with the 81 OS Were having trouble connecting thru wifi to the control panel        Update

Please please please get rid of the demo prompt every time you open the app if it has already connected to the spa Interface is okay I wish the controls and the temperature were accessible from the main screen Needs iOS 7 UI refresh shouldnt be hard just a few buttons and sliders everything else is already custom Even better would be an API andor HomeKit integration in iOS 8 I had connectivity issues for the first month or so that I had to reboot the spa but its been rock solid since then           Functional not great

Weve had our tub for about a year and paid for the wireless access upgrade As noted by other reviewers it has never functioned reliably typically requiring a power cycle of the entire spa We have excellent wifi signal and all of the various software for our devices and hardware is always kept up to date I wish BWA would fix this Seems some kind of firmware update for their module might be in order Its an extremely frustrating situation as we purchased this to monitor our spa from out of town This was not a novelty buy so we could play with the hot tub from in the house     Unreliable

Doesnt work half of the time I use it I have to reboot my spa on a regular basis just like a Windows PC And please make the demo mode prompt at bootup go away Its annoying This app needs a lot more work and testing        Goodwhere it works

Connects when it wants to and thats seldom at the most Like others you continuously have to power down the tub in order for it to connect and only after numerous tries and about an hour of your life The static connection they show on YouTube is worthless also and does absolutely nothing They should really have all the kinks worked out by now but obviously this is a low priority for BWA Love the Spa and hoping the wifi is the only shabby quality control issue we experience with the tub If youre looking for a wifi connectivity tub and appthis isnt it Keep looking     Horrible Useless Feature

It only works temporary when you reset the panel by plugging off power of the swim spa After two or three times it stops working It is definitely a flaw in the Balboa software     Does not reconnect
