Paired with a subscription managed by iTunes not EB this app has a ton of great content I especially like the daily content and the ability to save articles for offline viewing a must for some of the larger articles The linkmap on articles is also very nice as it lets you visually explore related content                 Great app

Terrible app Cant logon cant find username or password cant cancel subscription Ive just been donating a couple bucks a month for two years     So bad

I love the app But Im having trouble when I try to save several articles for offline viewing The save article dialogue box migrates down the screen to the point where I can no longer tap the save command button Please correct in future version An other problem is there is no way to synch your saved articles between your iPhone and iPad There dont seem to be any account settings that enable this feature           Saving Articles

I tried to contact them 3 times over a month via web form They did nothing and no response Even as a paid subscriber they just dont care well its Wikipedia for me and I hope they fail because I waisted my time contacting them     No support for app

Figured I would get access to their website when I paid for a subscription oops        No Laptop Access

This app need to function in other languages such as Portuguese francoise Italian and bunch of others This app need a language configuration and not other app in another language        We dont have this In portuguese

Tried everything I know to get the full articles after subscribing Going to request a refund ASAP Sad to say but this app is a ripoff     Paid for the year and cant get access

Okay so maybe Im just a huge nerd but this is like the coolest app ever for me Growing up as a little kid I always loved looking through the pictures in Encyclopedias and marveled at how amazing our earth history animals etc are This is just like the coolest app ever and Im so tired of using Wikipedia which isnt even a real source for info because I cant trust everything I read on Wikipedia but I know Im getting the real deal with this app Also the interface is SO COOL Literally they tried to make it so that when you flip through the pages of an article its almost like flipping through a real encyclopedia And the pictures are great and dont take up the whole screen which is nice You can click on them too to make them bigger This app is just awesome Im just sooo happy I found it Yayyyyy                 Coolest app ever

Its a joy to have the access to the Encyclopaedia Britannica on my iphone For the cost of a magazine subscription I have verified information presented in a quality format If you enjoy verified facts thisis a perfect app Definitely one of my favorites                 Fantastic app

I loved the Encyclopedia Britannica And I especially love the app well worth the 199 monthly subscription I remember using encyclopedias in book form They were multivolumes expensive and updates were only available annually And they would take up at least an entire shelf The best most revered and most expensive was Britannica Im glad that Britannica transitioned into digital format Im sure that with Wikipedia and such print versions of encyclopedias have become obsolete It would have been a great loss of knowledge with factual vetted wellwritten articles had Britannica gone the way of the VHS I have been using this app since it became available Wikipedia serves its purpose but to get the benefits of a real encyclopedia get the Britannica app                 A REAL Encyclopedia always available up to date

You only get barely a page of information and sometimes the page cuts off midsentence and They want you to pay 1499 to be able to read the rest of it This is just a gyp and its thievery     They just want money

Downloaded browsed deleted I looked at a few articles and was extremely disappointed at the marketing gimmickry employed to prompt for subscriptions One article that had 20 pages in the print edition was reduced to a paragraph with a subscribe for more trailer No thanks What I would like is a standalone reference that requires no internet access I travel to remote and austere locations Remember the CDRoms that used to be available before broadband I would gladly pay some for a baseline AND pay for an annual update for a sizable 1gb would be great and respectable not Wikipedia resource Are you up for the challenge Britannica World Book 2 stars cause I reserve 1 star reviews for Hollywood egos and bad US Presidents yes I know I knowsame thing        Can we get serious

Im an 8th grade student trying to do my US president reports because the encyclopedias I use dont provide enough info but u have to pay 15 to get more than one paragraph of basic info     BULL CRAP

Since this app is pathetic Im downgrading it to one star reason being is that since I started using it a lot it crashes on certain pages of some articles and also because it has seldom been updated Content is great and reasonable for fifteen bucks a year but the app is really bad no access to the dictionary no book marks no customization It looks alright and works well but is really lacking otherwise     Needs Lots of Improvement

Any app especially an encyclopedia needs to be updated This needs to be updated quarterly at least The world is changing to fast     No updates in over a year must be great to be perfect

Most articles are slanted to the liberal point of view and in some cases the facts are altered to fit that point of view This is particularly noticeable with politics history and the debunked global warming theory Additionally many searches have come up empty Was a waste of 1400 I will not repeat If you are a liberal incapable of thinking for yourself you will like this TO UNSUBSCRIBE Go to bottom of App Store Main Page where your email address is listed Tap on that Tap View Account Enter your account password Tap on Manage Subscriptions All apps that you have a subscription to will be listed Turn off AutoUpdate It will tell you how long your subscription will still be good     Biased and Too Little Information Unsubscribe

How about an automatic alphabetization of favorites and saves for starters and a synch for multiple devices        needs an update badly

When I first downloaded this app I was very excited but when I signed in and tried to go into an article it forgot I was signed in I will not use the app AT ALL until they fix this which is why I gave them two stars to show that I have hope for them fixing it        If I could access it would be good

As a child I was lucky enough to have the set at home I am so disappointed in how this amazing established company has failed to keep up with the times Looks AWFUL on my 6plus I deleted it and hope they get their great content together in a way that is easy for a new generation to learn from them as I did Sadly Wikipedia is so much better for the phone     Long time lover of Britanica

Reading the first paragraph of the entry on Da Vinci reminded me why I always loved the Britannica and could lose myself in it for hours It wasnt simply presenting information it taught me why I keep returning to DaVincis sketch what his true gift was His ability to see and I would add to teach us to see The Britannica also taught me to see and learn to understand the world Wikipedia is a great resource but those of us who grew up with the Britannica have always been acutely aware of its limitations It is nice to see a print publisher adapting so well to e media And doing it in a way that even I can manage to afford While I strongly agree that such resources should be free I also believe that writers and scholars and educators should be able to feed their families and companies who provide such important resources should be encouraged and supported This does not mean there is not still room for improvement The option to have more resources available offline better integration of images and other enhancements would be welcome In addition I hope the Britannica continues to update materials but without becoming overly obsessed about trying to all provide the newest and latest There are other sources for that I rely on the Britannica for the quality reliability synthesis and often insight their articles provide           Thank you EB

This is shamefully poor My second attempt to access what was in print a valuable resource Every time I search a topic I find much more in Wikipedia Today I searched for the WW I English veteran Henry Harry Patch and I could not find a listing while Wikipedia a an ample write up This will be my second cancellation of their paid subscription     Buyer Beware

If it is too good to be true Who would think that access to the complete Encyclopedia Britannica would be free It is not I cannot evaluate the subscription version As for the free app it is incomplete nothing more than a teaser A good dictionary would be much more useful I recommend users not bother with this app unless they are willing to pay a monthly subscription     Teaser

I searched Playstation 2 and it only had an article about the PS1 and PS Home so due to the fact that it missed out on the PS2 this is a horrible source for info as it doesnt even compare to all the content on Wikipedia 15 a year may be a meagre amount but this Encyclopaedia doesnt even have a PS2 article thus who knows what else it lacks     Unbelievable

This app is nearly perfect It is stable The price is quite reasonable The content is about as reputable as it gets The only thing that prevents me from giving it 5 stars is that it has somewhat limited customisation settings it would be nice to have more font and background settings and perhaps the ability to print articles from the app Otherwise it is a great app              Close to perfection

I expected the wealth of information I remember from the printed Britannica This is more like a basic encyclopedia like the World Book Encyclopedia I had as a child which is good information at that level but does not satisfy an adult curiosity Example the Colorado Plateau hear warrants two paragraphs Nothing on its formation at all Every time I come here for information I am disappointed I am canceling my subscription           Basic information no more

Advertised as free but there is nothing in the app You have to subscribe and charged every year Installed it and it took 18 seconds to decide to delete it     Trash

Oh man all went well at first For 2 a month you get the whole Britannica and you can save content for offline viewing Seems to work really well BUT when you subscribe an autorenew function is turned on so you will pay 2 a month until you figure out how to turn it off I managed it by actually reading in desperation the subscription confirmation email I received Click the link near the bottom of the email that says go to iTunes iTunes will open on your machine and a page will appear where you can clearly select to turn off the autorenew You really should be able to just do it from within the app or may within the iPhone settings somewhere I couldnt find it I wonder if all iPhone subscriptions work this way Its a pretty shoddy business practice and stains Britannicas reputation maybe Apples too        LIke Ive just been had by a used car dealer

Im a librarian so I take my reference materials seriously I trust Britannica over any other encyclopedia hands down So the idea of having it in my pocket is glorious But heres the thing The user interface of this app is TERRIBLE To read an article you have to flip these weird cards which is distracting And the tools tab is justTHERE hanging out on the left side of the screen in the brightest possible color Its the eyesore to end all eyesores Please for the love of humanity and knowledge redesign this app from the ground up so its actually usable Because this is really important Reading the old print volumes RIP was a wonderfully immersive experience This just feels like trash        Amazing content but TERRIBLE design

It took me a while to figure it out It was only useful to me once but it stayed active for a long time To unsubscribe you need to log onto a desktop computer open the iTunes store online go to your iTunes account settings click subscriptions and unsubscribe Hope this helps someone     How to delete

I have access to Encyclopedia Britannica on my computer because my school provides a login through EB School However this iOS application rejected my login all three attempts This app needs to fix this terminating and majorly detrimental issue in that it is rejecting members from full access This app would receive five stars if this was not a present issue        Does not accept school login

my son downloaded it years ago and now were getting monthly charges and I cannot find out how to cancel this firkin frustrating Please let me know how to cancel this its not even on a phone we have anymore yet i still am getting billed for it any help would be appreciated     Show me how to cancel this

I am an ipad subscriber and am highly disappointed you dont have the ability to send articles to a printer or create a PDF of text to print I am a college student and without this option this app is useless Please add this feature or I will cancel my subscription        No option to print create PDF of text for premium ipad subscribers

The interface is well thought out and most importantly responsive unlike Wikipedia The content is as one would expect from Britannica thorough and well written                 Superior experience

I am so glad to have this encyclopedia as a resource 7 is an eminently fair rate to get scholarly trustworthy knowledge Whenever I am curious about something I read or hear about I would go immediately to wikipedia I am so very glad I made the investment in this instead Britannica has many more topics than I anticipated and they are all clearly written and expansive Wikipedia is rarely flatly wrong but it can be limited narrow and ultimately less helpful and trustworthy 199mo is absolutely worth it for anyone who takes knowledge and learning seriously Cannot recommend this enough                 Incredibly Worthwhile
